Crying foul after referee Mike Dean burst someone's bubble in the Press box

WEST HAM-loving Martin Samuel is not one of Sheffield United supporters’ favourite sports writers. Nonetheless he is almost certainly among the most talented. A prodigious and thought-provoking output has won him many professional accolades. Deservedly so.

The Daily Mail’s chief sports writer can sometimes let the objectivity slip a little, however, when it comes to his beloved Hammers. Something Blades fans know all too well where Carlos Tevez or Chris Morgan are concerned.

Referee Mike Dean caused controversy when he wrongly sent off Sofiane Feghouli just 15 minutes into West Ham’s recent Premier League match against Manchester United who went on to win 2-0 at the London Stadium.

“Dean would have known he was as good as giving United three points at that moment. His ego won the day,” reflected Samuel in his column this week.

Really? Dean is a divisive figure and is accused of many things but helping Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho secure three points just because he can?

Sounds more like blowing bubbles and squeak to me.
